Good day people, this is my first post.
My problem is the following:
My friend is pumping water up from a river to water their crops with 2x50kW pumps to a height of 140m.
They however have a waterfall on their farm with a head of about 12m.
I want to know what the easiest way would be to harness the water power to use it to power the 50kW pumps?
Will I be able to use a plain centrifugal pump as a turbine? What efficiancy can I expect?
If I use a pump with a 400V rating, will it generate this voltage no matter what speed the impeller is turning, and only the amps will vary as the turbine turns at different velocities?
Will I be able to connect the generator motor and pump motor directly?
